Hebrews 4:15-16

When was the last time you took a break? Like, really enjoyed a day off? Did you know that REST is actually a biblically mandated privilege for those who know Christ? Enjoying rest is something that the apostle, Paul, declares as promised to us when we are in relationship with Christ (Hebrews 3 & 4). When we choose to follow the teachings of Jesus and allow Him to be in charge of our lives, we find an indescribable rest far greater than those who are apart from Him. The rest that Christ gives to us starts at our souls and works it’s way out. When Jesus is at the center of your life, you get to bring your chaos to Him and trust that He will exchange it for the mercy and grace needed to sustain your soul. Take some time this week to get away from your to-do list and focus on your Savior that provides rest for your soul.

MEDITATE ON THIS PASSAGE: This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
